Premium Credits During the Coronavirus Pandemic

 

As you may have heard, most insurance companies have been offering extended terms of payment due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Some of our insurance companies are also offering their auto customers a credit in premium for the months of April and May as a goodwill gesture and because there simply are not as many people driving right now on a regular basis. See if your company is listed below and what they may be offering.

Goodville Mutual Insurance

Personal Auto Insurance:   Goodville Insurance will be applying a credit of 15% of your monthly premium for the months of April and May 2020 if you had an active policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May. This will come to you in the form of a credit or refunded as a check depending upon your payment options. You do not need to contact Goodville Mutual to receive the credit it will be automatically  sent out to you.

You will be getting a letter directly from Goodville Mutual in the near future regarding this credit/refund.  In this letter there will be information for you if you want to forego your credit/refund and instead direct it to a  matching charity that Goodville Mutual has established to help others in the community that are suffering hardships.

Selective Insurance

Personal Auto Insurance:   Selective Insurance will be applying a credit of 15% of your monthly premium for the months of April and May 2020 if you had an active policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May.

Commercial Auto Insurance:   Selective Insurance will be applying a credit of 15% of your monthly premium for the months of April and May 2020 if you had an active policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May.

Progressive Insurance

Personal Auto Insurance:   Progressive Insurance, will be applying a credit of 20% of your monthly premium for the months of April and May 2020 if you had an active policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May.

SafeCo Insurance

Personal Auto Insurance:   SafeCo Insurance, pending regulatory approval, will refund you 15% of your monthly premium for the months of April and May 2020 if you had an active policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May. The refund will begin shortly. You will be issued a check or you will be reimbursed in the manner in which you made your most recent payment. The refund payment will be sent to you automatically. You do not have to contact SafeCo to receive the refund.

Erie Insurance

Personal Auto Insurance:   Erie Insurance will refund you 30% of your monthly premium for the months of April and May 2020 if you had an active policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May. The refund will begin shortly. You will be issued a check or you will be reimbursed in the manner in which you made your most recent payment. The refund payment will be sent to you automatically. You do not have to contact Erie Insurance to receive the refund.

Commercial Auto Insurance:   Erie Insurance will refund you 30% of your monthly premium for the months of April and May 2020 if you had an active policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May. The refund will begin shortly. You will be issued a check or you will be reimbursed in the manner in which you made your most recent payment. The refund payment will be sent to you automatically. You do not have to contact Erie Insurance to receive the refund.

In addition, in the future, Erie Insurance is lowering their personal and commercial rates by 5% overall. This will be for new and renewal business. The exact date of this overall rate reduction is to be determined pending regulatory approval.

Nationwide Insurance

Personal Auto Insurance:   Nationwide Insurance is issuing you a one-time payment of $50 if you had an active policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May. The refund will begin shortly. You will be issued a check or you will be reimbursed in the manner in which you made your most recent payment. The refund payment will be sent to you automatically. You do not have to contact Nationwide to receive the refund.

Liberty Mutual

Business Owners Policy:   Liberty Mutual, subject to regulatory approval, will be sending you a 15% refund of your monthly premium for the months of April and May 2020 if you had an active Business Owner’s Policy as of the end of April and as of the end of May. You will automatically receive a check through the mail. You do not need to call Liberty Mutual to receive the refund.
